Drew Hancherick
Associate
Overview
Drew joined Balcomb & Green as an associate in June of 2025. His practice areas include water law, real estate and land use, civil litigation, regulatory, government, and business matters.
Before joining Balcomb & Green, Drew advised the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as Assistant District Counsel on water resource projects, water rights, and partnerships with tribal, state, and local governments. Earlier, he practiced real estate and land use, civil litigation, business, and government matters in Oregon.
Drew received his Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where he focused on natural resources and environmental law. During law school, Drew worked as a law clerk in Perkins Coie’s Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources group and interned with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Western Urban Water Coalition. His participation in the Western Resources Legal Center clinic allowed him to work on water and other natural resource matters for farmers, ranchers, and landowners.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Drew moved West and split the last decade between Colorado and Oregon before settling in the Roaring Fork Valley with his wife and their two dogs. When he’s not out on hiking trails or ski slopes, he can be found in the kitchen perfecting his bolognese recipe.
