Position Summary
Legal assistants are responsible for supporting attorneys in all elements of legal practice. Legal assistants perform both billable and non-billable tasks for clients in support of work performed by attorneys. The position requires an outgoing, confident and professional individual.
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing competent, timely, and thoughtful support to attorneys;
- Managing and prioritizing projects efficiently in a dynamic environment;
- Facilitating communication between attorneys and clients;
- Managing paper and electronic filings;
- Creating and monitoring calendar deadlines;
- Preparing correspondence, pleadings, transactional, and estate-planning documents; and
- Researching state, county and court records.
Position Requirements Include:
- Highly organized and detail oriented, ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
- Advanced professional and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work with clients and maintain information in strict confidence;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects;
- Detail oriented and organized;
- Ability to simultaneously perform routine daily functions and unique complex assignments;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook; Excel; Word) and affinity for learning new software tools;
- Relevant work experience and/or Paralegal Certificate.
Compensation
Compensation ranges $50,000 – $70,000/year with performance-based bonus eligibility. Benefits include group health insurance for the employee, HSA, Cafeteria Plan, 401(k), long-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
